Food is an important part of experiencing everyday life in Raja Ampat.
We do not provide meals as a conventional tourism service. Instead, we invite you to take part in the process — from choosing and preparing ingredients to cooking and sharing a meal together with your hosts and the local community.
You may help prepare simple local dishes, learn how ingredients are traditionally prepared, or simply join the kitchen and discover how everyday meals are made in a village home.
This is not a cooking class, and there is no professional kitchen or restaurant-style service. It is a simple, authentic experience of everyday local life.
Depending on the community and availability, you may experience local ingredients such as fresh fish, vegetables, sago, cassava, bananas, coconut, and other ingredients commonly found in the area.
For us, sharing food is more than eating. It is about participating, learning, talking, and sharing time together.
The kitchen can become a place to meet people, exchange stories, learn a few words in the local language, and understand how families and communities prepare their daily meals.
You are welcome to get involved as much as you like — whether you want to cook alongside your host, help with simple preparations, or simply sit, watch, and learn.
Come with curiosity, not expectations.
The experience is simple, local, and sometimes spontaneous. And that is exactly what makes it part of the journey.
You are not coming to Raja Ampat simply to be served.
You are coming to experience how people live.
