Sometimes, the most meaningful experiences begin with simply sitting together.
DDS (Duduk, Diskusi, Santai) is an informal moment to sit with local community members, relax, share stories, and have genuine conversations. There is no fixed agenda and no formal activity—just time to connect, listen, and learn from one another.
You may sit on a traditional veranda, by the seaside, under a tree, or in a local home. Conversations can be about everyday life, family, culture, traditions, the village, the ocean, or simply whatever comes naturally.
For us, DDS is not about being a tourist or observing local life from a distance. It is about being present and sharing a moment as part of the community.
You don't need to speak perfect Indonesian. A smile, a question, and an open mind are often enough to start a conversation.
Sit down. Slow down. Talk. Listen. Connect.
This simple experience can become one of the most memorable parts of your time in Raja Ampat.
